My friend Jepp

The year is 19… 200… i think it was 2010?? I had just lived with my best friend Evan for 6 months and off he went to woo a lady into becoming his wife. (it worked, and they are beautiful) So then I was forced into getting a fourth room mate.

Enter Jeff Hokyo.

I first met jeff on his DTS that he did with Evan in 2008. He was a highly talented, not all that loud japanese boy. He came back on staff and punched the communities lights out, with his engaging cuteness and his penchant for including large amounts of people in worship times and hilarity.

We were strange room mates. Like me and Evan, we had completely different schedules which didn’t cross over that often outside of playing music together or for one stage, watching separate tv series at the same time.

But Jeff, without going out to do so, inspired and pushed me to grow like not many have. His gentle alongside approach to leadership completely changed my outreach to Uganda. His almost mentoring me through worship times have thrown me into things God has been speaking since i was heaps young.

And when he returned home to hawaii we began a strange skype friendship that included so much nudity and funny that i decided to document one such cross ocean hang out.

Enjoy such highlights as the banjalele, and Jeff doing his washing.
